Catherine Poehl

Senior Consultant at General Ledger Partners

Catherine's love of accounting came from childhood, when her parents had her create expense reports after giving her weekly allowance. She joined the accounting world in 2010. While attending Houston Baptist University she was able to work part-time on campus for Aramark Higher Education. Upon graduation, she worked full-time for Aramark Refreshments, where she processed payroll for 100+ employees and managed a team of accountants as the Unit Controller Associate.

Cat has worked with a variety of small businesses in different industries, helping to clean up financials and create process and procedure documentation. She is enthusiastic about helping small businesses clean and organize processes and document procedures so that day-to-day transactions are uniform and financial records are accurate.

Although she already has a BA in Psychology, Cat is currently working towards a second degree in accounting in preparation for her CPA license.

Cat is passionate about animals. In her free time in Houston, she volunteered with Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation Coalition to help rehabilitate wildlife. She even had the opportunity to sit on the board for the International Rehabilitation Coalition! If she isn’t working or studying, you can find her volunteering with Austin Pets Alive in their cat department, or at home fostering neonatal kittens.
